Reiki is a method of healing, not associated with any religion, that assists the body’s ability to self-heal. Our body is made up of energetic centers or “Chakras” that correspond to different parts of the body. Our Chakras become congested through everyday life experiences—negative people, places, emotions, or childhood traumas, for example. We store these emotions and experiences in our body, and this can be something that we realize or, more commonly, are not even consciously aware of. This can generate a number of unexplained aches, pains, or even mental fog, for example, if we do not clear and release the congestion, but most importantly, find and heal the root of the culprit. Imbalanced Chakras disrupt the flow of energy in the body, which can lower our vibration and potentially cause health problems that don’t seem to have explanations. Reiki energy balances out these systems and allows us to release old and stuck energies so that you can raise your vibration and live a life in flow. You leave the session feeling lighter, more vibrant, and relaxed.
The practitioner will ask for your permission to work with your energy field, and then you will set the intention for the session that you wish to work on. A Reiki session mimics the ambiance of a massage; however, you are fully clothed, and you may or may not feel the practitioner’s hands as they do not always directly touch the skin. In other words, your energy body is getting a full-body massage. You will melt into a warm and replenishing relaxation as the practitioner works through assessing blocks, the 7 main Chakras’ vitality, and boosting the energy flow in your body while working on the intention that you set.
The practitioner will gently guide your awareness back into the room and, at your own timing, get up. Following the session, you can ask questions to your practitioner about your experience, and there can be a fruitful discussion of the session, allowing you to not only leave relaxed but also knowledgeable about what you experienced.
Every person is unique, and with that comes a signature experience. However, the most common sensations are: falling asleep, going into a dream state with vivid images, some have reported seeing an array of colors, feeling heat or shivers, tingling sensations as the energy moves, twitches, the body feeling very heavy, the urge to laugh or cry as blockages are moved, or for some, nothing at all, just a lovely relaxation. We recommend coming open for the experience without any specific expectations – your energy will react according to what it needs.
You will feel relaxed, and for some, there will be a plethora of answers to their intentions. Reiki is about lighting up your life’s path, so it is very common for people to receive revelations or epiphanies through Reiki treatments, although it is not promised that it can be achieved instantly, it is, nonetheless a process that is ignited through Reiki as it opens the door for an amazing opportunity of self care and personal growth.
It is important to note that some people have reported feeling very tired after a session, or in extreme cases, headaches or slight nausea. This is due to the sudden movement of energy in the body. We recommend staying hydrated after your session, and in the rare event that a headache or nausea were to occur, just keep it simple, your body is recalibrating to the cleansed energy flow in your body. Don’t have a heavy meal following the session or go out for an intense workout. Let your body acclimate to the fresh energy flow before you do any strenuous activity. Nevertheless, always discuss with your practitioner if you have a health condition so they can properly customize your session and ensure that the energy cleansing is done with attention to your specific needs. Remember, Reiki is a non-invasive healing modality to open the door towards a renewed sense of self-care.
Healing is not linear, and we need to embrace the twists and turns of the healing path. Reiki is individualized to the client; therefore, results are unique to each person and the situation they are working on. For best results, it is recommended that Reiki become a regular part of your self-care practice in order to gain the most benefits. Healing occurs in layers—each session uncovers a new layer that needs to be healed. Generally, for first-time clients, we recommend 1 session every other week. It is important to keep in mind that healing cannot be forced; this will be a journey of learning, purging, and growing, and there is no time frame for that – it is an individual experience.
Absolutely! Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing modality that can be beneficial for both the mother and the developing baby. The practitioner and client will discuss the goals and intentions for the session to be customized accordingly. In most cases, the mama will be sitting on a chair rather than lying on the Reiki table to ensure comfort. Nonetheless, Reiki can help with managing pregnancy-related discomforts, promoting relaxation, and supporting the body’s energy in this beautiful time. Reiki is helpful for children as well, and truly, for all ages and all walks of life.
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness, often called a trance. In this state, a person may be more open to suggestions, allowing for positive changes in behaviors, emotions, or perceptions as the subconscious takes the front row seat.
Hypnotherapy can support a wide range of issues, including:
- Anxiety and stress
- Fears and phobias
- Smoking cessation
- Weight management
- Insomnia
- Chronic pain
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Past trauma
Yes. Hypnosis is a natural and safe state of mind. You are in control the entire time and cannot be made to do anything against your will. At any time during the session, you can come out of it if you so desire with no problem. Again, you are always in control of your mind and body.
No. You remain aware and in control throughout the session. Hypnosis is not sleep; it is a deeply relaxed and focused state where your subconscious is more accessible, and this is where the deep work unveils.
Sessions typically begin with a discussion of your goals, followed by guided relaxation and hypnotic induction. In the hypnotic state, the therapist may use visualization, suggestion, or regression techniques depending on your needs. The practitioner will always be attentive to your goals and customize the session around that. You should always expect a deep and safe communication experience with your practitioner.
Past life regression is a hypnotic technique used to explore memories or impressions believed to be from previous lifetimes. It can be a tool for personal insight, emotional healing, and spiritual growth.
No. Even if you’re skeptical, many clients find value in the imagery, stories, and insights that surface during regression—whether they view them as metaphor, memory, or imagination.
After relaxation and induction into hypnosis, the therapist will guide you to recall memories or scenes from a past life. You may experience visual images, emotions, sounds, or simply a knowing. Sessions include a debrief afterward to reflect on your experience.
Yes. Many people use PLR to explore unexplained fears, recurring dreams, difficult relationships, or physical ailments that don’t have a clear origin in this lifetime. It may offer insight and emotional release.
PLR is safe and non-invasive, and at Life Path Reiki and Healing Arts, we take pride in our credentials to ensure that all our clients receive the highest level of safe and productive sessions. It is important to keep in mind that a PLR can bring up intense emotions, so this is why it is important to work with someone qualified who can support your process. Always talk to your practitioner and ask all the questions you need. We are happy to answer and guide you in this experience.
This varies depending on your goals. Some people benefit from a single session, while others choose multiple sessions for deeper exploration or therapeutic work.
Most people can be hypnotized, but individual responsiveness varies. Willingness, trust, and the ability to focus all enhance the process. Your practitioner will assess this in your pre-hypnosis briefing.
